#HBCUMixtape Artist Profile -Neko-

Neko Da Roll-N-Stone

Stage name Neko Da Roll-N-Stone, a Georgia native from Atlanta, has been doing hip-hop for 8 years and counting. His music includes a variety of different styles and genres including Hip-Hop, Rap, Pop, R&B, Soul and even a little bit of Rock. He has released a number of singles including, ‘Freaky on The Weekend’, ‘She Goin’’, ‘The Zone’, and ‘Destined for Greatness’.  Neko really enjoys  doing  collaboration works, he has featured other artists on his songs like ‘Drunk Back’, with DMV artist Clifford Cartel and South Carolina native Smoke Kusher, and ‘Invisible’ with artists LaceMarie and The Profound TJ. The one and only producer of all of his songs is Mitchell ‘Skitz0’ Drath, from Columbia, South Carolina. Neko writes all of his own songs and he also does ghost writing for other artists as well. His inspiration for his songs comes from everything in the world around him. It comes from things he has experienced, studied, and things in the environment as well. Basically put, his inspiration comes from his past, present, and his future. For example, his first Album, ‘The Stone Age’, released on April 20, 2011, was inspired by the historic Stone Age in which caveman were still developing different tactics for survival in life. He used this idea as one analogous to him finding new tactics, which were the many different genres seen on the mixtape, to survive in the music industry. His most recent mixtape, ‘Stoniez Manor’, released on January 13, 2012, was made with the purpose of elaborating on a single genre which was the Dirty South genre. Neko makes his music as easily relatable as possible to enjoy with no profanity
